The Story

Trusscore and Grit Blueprint: Building the Grit Garage

Grit Blueprint partnered with Trusscore to create the Grit Garage at Grit Studios in Clayton, Georgia. The project brought Trusscore wall panels and slat‑wall storage into Ben Couch’s office and camera‑equipment space, then documented the installation and finished room on video.

The partnership connected a product conversation on the trade‑show floor with a real application inside Grit Blueprint’s studio. Stefanie and Ben Couch worked with the material themselves, showed how they planned the space, and took viewers through the finished Grit Garage. A completed studio feature brings that story together and is awaiting public release.

01

A Working Space for the Equipment Behind the Camera

The Grit Garage has a specific job inside Grit Studios. It is where Ben works and keeps the equipment that supports Grit Blueprint’s production work: cameras, lenses, tripods, smaller accessories, and gear that travels to filming locations.

The wall layout was planned around that use. A central slat‑wall section provided a place for hanging storage, with gray panels above and below it. The plan also included a work surface where Ben could set down gear. Additional wall panels carried the treatment through the room alongside cabinets and other storage.

That practical setting gave the partnership its story. Trusscore became part of a space the team uses for its own work, with the product shown in the context of equipment, storage, and the people using the room.

02

From a Trade‑Show Conversation to a Studio Installation

Stefanie discussed the product with Joel Koops of Trusscore at IBS 2026. In the studio feature, that conversation introduces the idea for a Trusscore space in the new studio before the story moves into the build.

Stefanie and Ben then take viewers into their first installation with the product. They explain the wall arrangement, prepare the space, and work through the project themselves. Trusscore provided product for the partnership, a contribution Stefanie acknowledges in the feature.

The footage follows the project through to the finished Grit Garage. Viewers can see how the wall system fits into Ben’s office and equipment area, including the slat‑wall storage and gray panels. The completed‑room walkthrough connects the early plan with the space the team actually built.

Product Storytelling Through the Build and Reveal

Grit Blueprint’s video brings three parts of the partnership together: the manufacturer conversation, the hands‑on installation, and the finished‑space reveal.

Each contributes something different. The interview introduces Trusscore through someone from the company. The installation shows Stefanie and Ben working with the material. The reveal lets viewers see the product as part of an occupied, useful room.

The studio build also appeared in Building Grit Episode 2 on YouTube, which includes their Trusscore slat‑wall project within the broader story of creating Grit Studios. Trusscore shared the studio project publicly, pointing its own audience toward the behind‑the‑scenes work.

A Product Interview With Its Own Life Beyond the Event

Alongside the studio story, Grit Blueprint produced a focused product interview with Joel on YouTube. That video paired the conversation about garage applications with supporting product footage and images.

Captioned and uncaptioned edits, plus a 9:16 vertical version, made the interview available in different viewing formats. Stefanie shared the product conversation on LinkedIn, giving viewers another way to meet Trusscore and hear about the product.

The episode is awaiting release and continues the partnership’s media story alongside the product interview and Grit Garage project.

The completed work gives the partnership a concrete foundation: a studio application, a feature awaiting public release, and publicly available behind‑the‑scenes footage and a product interview. Together, they show how Grit Blueprint can connect a building product with a real setting and tell the story through the people doing the work.

What You'll Take Away
How Joel Koops and his business partner Steve Bosman started Trusscore after working in agriculture, where wood and steel in buildings washed down on the inside could rot over time.
How Trusscore grew from agriculture and commercial spaces such as food processing plants and car washes into garages, basements, mudrooms and laundry rooms, which Joel Koops describes as Trusscore’s fastest growing market.
The difference between Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard, a flat, smooth panel in white and gray, and Trusscore SlatWall, and why Joel Koops sees the two mixed together as a functional wall design.
Why Stefanie Couch sees a Trusscore garage as an add‑on job for contractors already working in a home, and how the Trusscore Cost & Materials Estimator and Trusscore Trusted Installer Program support installers.
Why Stefanie Couch tells lumberyards, hardware stores and contractors to show the work with before‑and‑after photos and short social videos, and how Do it Best members can contact Trusscore directly to get started.
